Privacy Notice

This notice explains how information is collected, used and protected when the EmilyMedicare website is visited or when a form on it is submitted. It covers the pages published under this domain and the requests sent through them. It does not cover websites run by insurers, government programs or any other organization reached through a link.

Two kinds of information are gathered here:

• Details entered directly, such as first and last name, email address, phone number, chosen topic and the message written into a form
• Account details created during signup, including the password held in protected form
• Technical details recorded automatically, such as browser type, device type, general location by region and the pages viewed
• Consent records showing which permissions were granted and when

Medical records, diagnoses and financial account numbers are never requested through this site and should not be entered into any field on it.

Information submitted here is put to a small number of purposes:

• Answering the question or plan review request that was sent
• Comparing coverage options against the doctors and prescriptions described
• Sending service messages about a request where permission was given
• Sending marketing messages about Medicare plans where that separate permission was given
• Keeping the site working properly and protecting it from misuse
• Meeting record keeping obligations that apply to communications consent

Text messages are sent only to numbers where consent was recorded, and the two permissions are kept separate so service messages and marketing messages can be chosen independently. Message frequency may vary and standard message and data rates may apply.

Replying STOP ends text messages and replying HELP requests support. Email can be stopped through the unsubscribe link in any message. Consent can be withdrawn at any time without affecting the answer to a question already asked.

Small files may be stored by a browser to keep the site working, remember a session and understand which pages are read most. These files do not reveal a name or a phone number. Browser settings can block or clear them, though parts of the site may behave differently afterward.

EmilyMedicare does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. Information is shared only in these limited situations:

• With service providers who host the site, deliver messages or store records, under agreements limiting their use of it
• With an insurer or plan administrator, and only where a request has been made to move forward with that plan
• Where the law, a court order or a regulator requires disclosure
• Where disclosure is needed to protect the safety, rights or property of a person

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used to protect what is collected, including encrypted transmission and restricted access to stored records. No website or storage method can promise perfect security, so submissions are made with that understanding.

Records are kept for as long as they serve the purpose they were collected for, and afterward only where a legal or record keeping obligation applies. Consent records are held for the period required to demonstrate that permission was given. Information no longer needed is deleted or made anonymous.

Several choices are available at any time:

• Ask for a copy of the information held about you
• Ask for a correction where a detail is wrong or out of date
• Ask for deletion, subject to any obligation that requires a record to be kept
• Withdraw consent for service or marketing messages
• Ask that marketing stop while service replies continue

This site is written for adults approaching or already enrolled in Medicare and is not directed at children. Information is not knowingly collected from a child. If something reaches this site from a child, it will be removed once identified, and a parent or guardian is welcome to ask for that.

Links published here may lead to plan documents, government resources or insurer pages. Those destinations follow their own privacy practices, and this notice does not extend to them. Reading their notices before submitting anything on those pages is worth the minute it takes.

This notice may be updated as the site changes or as privacy requirements change. The revised version takes effect once it appears on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected here rather than announced separately.
